Salzburg, Austria

Eric brought us to spend the night at Salzburg, Austria. We did some sightseeing the next morning. It was amazing. We were up early in time to hear all of the church bells calling people to Sunday morning mass. There were huge fountains in the squares leading up to the massive churches. It was so grand! It was 25 degrees this morning and Willy and I went into the church to take a peak. It was very moving. The ceilings were so high and beautifully painted. Then we visited another bakery and drove to Garmisch, Germany, where we parted ways with Eric. We plan to see the castle (Neuschwanstein) here and Willy wants to snowboard.

Neuschwanstein (picture off the web because didn't bring the camera cord!)

We are both sick in the stomach, Lisa thinks it is because we are adjusting to the food and water. I hope so! Cole is finally over the jet lag and is really enjoying himself. Last night he crawled out of bed and walked around a bit before waking Willy by saying, "up, up."

Talk about jet lag...

Today I will overcome my jet lag. Poor Cole is sleeping now. He believes that it is 9am when it is 4am and he wakes up and will not go back to sleep. Willy is dad of the year because he gets up and plays with him while I sleep. Evidently, I snore like the dickens; enough to make Cole cry. They poke me and make snorting noises at me while I am asleep.

Yesterday, we went to the German bakery for some delicious almond bread and a few danish rolls. It was really good. I loved walking through the neighborhood streets. We then took a 4 hour nap and when Eric came home we did a little grocery shopping. Eric made us some awesome sausages and a sauerkraut and bacon thing with noodles that could also be potatoes. I am having so much fun and we've barley left the house yet. It is before 8am and I have been patiently waiting for the sun to rise. I am going to see the castle today if it kills me!

By the way, German chocolates rock!

We Made It!

Willy and I decided to take a spontaneous trip to Germany to visit Eric and his family. We went from thinking about it to buying tickets in 2 days, and now we are here! The flight was relaxingly uneventful. For now we are just resting and fixing Cole up so we can go do some sightseeing tomorrow with Lisa (Who is awesome!).

For the grandparents

What a silly monkey! Which grandparent said that my idea of getting Cole used to his potty before toliet training would encourage Cole to think the potty was a toy???

I want to be like my Daddy.

Bread Machine and Teeth

The other day Willy returned from the thrift store and said that he had a present for me. To any wife, those could be scary words... I was thrilled to discover that he picked up a bread maker that was still in the box and looked as if it was used mybe only once or twice. It is an incredible machine. We made pizza dough in it and it has been my best dough attept yet! Then we (my bread machine and I) made delicious crusty white bread and then later some raison bread.

For those of you that do not believe in the magic of bread making:
