Ally's New Buddy

Ok, Willy took about 5 pictures of his wife fishing and about 90 of the dogs, where one of which isn't even ours! I am just saying...

Ally seems to have multiplied herself and another white dog sneaks into our yard where they play together. At first our neighbor kept trying to cover up the holes that Boydy made under the fence, but that only forced Boydy to dig more secretive holes hidden by some shrubs. We finally talked to the neighbor and offered to share our yard because the dogs have so much fun together. They wrestle, race, share dog bones, play tug of war... they are really best friends. The neighbor propped open his fence so Ally can go over and visit, too.

"I'm gonna bite you"

"Cookies!!??"

"Whatcha doin'?"

"You can't catch me"

Thanks Mom!

Also for my birthday, Mom wanted me to look pretty with some new clothes. So here is what I bought yesterday while at the mall. I didn't realize how much my shape had changed until I looked at these pictures! Well, I guess that is what being pregnant does to you. I bought a nice pair of jeans, and three shirts. Thank you Mom!

You will have to use your imagination, our video camera doesn't take the best pictures, especially with orange counters and yellow light. Shirt colors are blue, pink and gray.

Gone Fishin'

For my birthday, Willy hooked me up with all kinds of cool fishing gear. It is harder than it looks but I really enjoy it. I almost have my cast down, although I am still snagging everything from bushes, trees and myself. I think it will be cooler when I get my waders because then I will be away from most of that stuff. Then I only have to worry about hooking me!

New vest and tyin' knots

Now, I am on a lake off of the Boise River, sporting my new vest and learning how to tie a blood knot. I had to add new tippet! :) I must have looked official because old people are asking if I "got anything off of that there fly."

What I am supposed to look like (not manly, though)

Dinner at Marisa's

Last weekend Willy and I treated our Montana friends to some Cuban food. I made fried plantains, Palomia steaks, black beans and rice for them. I think they liked it and found it to be a bit different. It is funny buying plantains in Boise. I asked the veggie guy at the grocery store where they were and he said that they only had a few black ones left that his manager said were still good. He looked so doubtful about them!

I also could not believe it, but, not only did Jessica and Mark bring key lime pie for dessert, they brought a birthday gift for me. It was packaged in a Victoria Secret's box and I was getting nervous when I realized that it was a fly fishing vest full of pockets for all my neato fly fishing stuff. It fits perfect and I can't wait to use it this weekend. I will look very official. Thanks again, Jessica and Mark!

Our new friends have a nice place that they want to repaint and I was thinking of everyone who helped Willy and I with ours. Jenna, feel free to leave a comment for Jessica and Mark telling them how if we don't help them with chores, then we would be the biggest ingrates with the worst karma ever!

Happy Birthday Month

Yeah, March is here and everyone knows what that means! I am 26 this month. Still younger than Willy and that is all that matters. So Happy Birthday to me!

Our attempt at artsy...

Well, I have been wanting to get more serious about my fiddling again so I found some ads on craigslist for fiddle lessons and the first one I called said she was playing in a bluegrass band tonight at an open mic at The Library Coffee House (see link to the side in fun stuff). We said 'what the heck' and went and checked it out. It had a pretty cool vibe going. Lots of books and emos all around. Marisa found a home! People were playing music or reciting poetry and the like. Turns out Asians are into bluegrass...who knew? The lady giving violin lessons was also asian singing Bill Monroe's Blue Moon of Kentucky with the Snake River String Band. Reminded me of the good old days when me and JitterBug would howl all night singin some 'In the Pines' and what not.

We had some fun and I am going to give lessons a shot with her. It would be cool to compete at Weiser (http://www.fiddlecontest.com) with Uncle Walter. It is warming up a bit here so the snow has not been falling and I have not been wanting to snowboard on ice so I figure I have some free time.

I'm really hoping this dude doesn't show up!!! Ahhh!!!

What???

Our Culinary Experience

Sunday morning Marisa and I (mostly Marisa) made a fancy brunch from her cookbook magazine her mom got her. (My mom also got her a cookbook magazine we use too!) I roasted a red pepper in the oven under the broiler and skinned it and diced it. It was kind of like a quiche in a pastry. Eggs mixed with Gruyère and cream cheese poured atop a mixture of onions, diced potatoes, chopped roasted red pepper and bacon! It came out fantastic! She is becoming quite the little cook! Thanks moms!
