Hello, I was surprised to see that we only wrote one entry for February. it seems that we should have written a lot more, being the cool, fun, adventurous and spunky people that we are!
Willy was mad at Ally today. They went hiking in our back yard together this afternoon. Willy bought a shovel and wanted to investigate the bike jump prospects while I made dinner. About an hour later Ally comes hauling butt down our hill and runs inside panting and drinking water like crazy. When I looked out the window wondering where Willy was, I saw him on the ridge very, very far away. Evidently the two where separated when Ally went chasing deer. Willy was late for dinner (consequently, dinner was overdone and chewy) because he was looking for her. Ally also had the nerve to bark at him when she saw him far away and when he was coming through the back gate.
We also picked up the furniture for baby's room...

A Nice Hike
Yesterday was fun because the weather here is so beautiful. It is beginning to warm up and the temperature was in the high 40's. We took Ally with us to go for a hike at the black cliffs near Lucky Peak State Park. We were following a path that a herd of antelope or deer took along the base of the cliffs. If you look to your right, you are overlooking the dammed river below and above the river there are more black cliffs. To our left, rock climbers where scaling the cliffs and enjoying the weather as we were. Ally was enthralled with them because evidently she has never seen that before. We also saw two red bushy tailed foxes hunting some quail on the rocks. On the path we found a bleached white spinal column of an antelope or deer and while we were looking for other bones spread around, Ally found the kill spot. The only thing left was the gray fur of the animal.
While I was resting, Willy and Ally climbed to the top of the cliff. I was getting a little worried when I couldn't see them any longer when I saw Willy waving to me from the top. A few seconds later, Ally joined him and looked over the top too.
It was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
