A Nice Hike

Yesterday was fun because the weather here is so beautiful. It is beginning to warm up and the temperature was in the high 40's. We took Ally with us to go for a hike at the black cliffs near Lucky Peak State Park. We were following a path that a herd of antelope or deer took along the base of the cliffs. If you look to your right, you are overlooking the dammed river below and above the river there are more black cliffs. To our left, rock climbers where scaling the cliffs and enjoying the weather as we were. Ally was enthralled with them because evidently she has never seen that before. We also saw two red bushy tailed foxes hunting some quail on the rocks. On the path we found a bleached white spinal column of an antelope or deer and while we were looking for other bones spread around, Ally found the kill spot. The only thing left was the gray fur of the animal.

While I was resting, Willy and Ally climbed to the top of the cliff. I was getting a little worried when I couldn't see them any longer when I saw Willy waving to me from the top. A few seconds later, Ally joined him and looked over the top too.

It was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
