For Cole's last day of school, we were invited to one of his classmate's family farm. It was gorgeous there! It was a tree farm and they really went all out for the class. Cole saw tractors and fed a horse some oats. He rode in a big army truck and got his first horseback lesson.
Cole really wanted to get on the horse but he was a little hesitant. The grandfather told Willy to get on the horse to show Cole it was ok and either Willy underestimated the old farmers strength or the old farmer underestimated Willy's... well, the picture says it all.

Willy recovered nicely in the end.

Grandparents, you have to watch the horse video. He had a smile on his face the entire time and I was really proud of him.
After the battery of my camera died, the grandfather got a call from his brother-in-law at the adjacent horse farm, saying that one of their mares birthed a colt. So we loaded up into the army truck and rode to the horse farm. We walked past the 1 year's and the 2 year's all galloping around their pens, to see a day old baby horse walking around its mother and nursing, standing on wobbly legs. The day could not have been more special.
A few days later, I felt like taking pictures of our yard and new little animals. Spring is great!
